Custom Fabricated Steel Pan Head Clamp-Fast Terminal Screw for the Electronic Industry
For over five decades at The Fastron Co. we have been recognized leaders in the fabrication of high quality custom cold headed parts. Highlighted here is our patented #6-32 x .250 combination pan head Clamp-Fast terminal screw with washer. It was designed specifically for use in the electronics industry to hold wires in place in electronic applications. Utilizing a developed cold heading process, 1022 and 1050 steel is formed to precise profiles while maintaining a tight tolerance of ±.001" throughout. The threads were rolled to the required pitch, and the component was subjected to a controlled heat treatment for increased strength and wear resistance. The unit was finished with corrosion resisting zinc plating, and sealed with a clear trivalent chromate conversion coating for added protection. The part was baked for hydrogen relief according to industry standards.
Comprehensive dimensional, visual, and gauge inspections were carried out to ensure quality and accuracy. Overall dimensions of the finished screws were 0.400" in length and 0.270" in diameter; the accompanying washers were 0.290" in length and 0.290" in width.
